Red Tape Bill (NFIB & Columbia Business Report)

        • Nehemiah Communications is a strong supporter of America's Armed Forces and is proud of its service to military clients. Ken Breivik is leading the design efforts for a website to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812. This work took Breivik to Washington, DC, to research visuals at the Naval History Heritage Command, the Naval Art Museum and the Naval Library. Currently, Nehemiah is also providing the administrative work for the USS LCI National Association of World War II veterans. Previous military clients have included: The Celebration Freedom Foundation and special events honoring the Doolittle Raiders, the Tuskegee Airmen and the Triple Nickles.

        • At the request of the National Forum on Information Literacy, Dr. Patricia Breivik prepared a Podcast to be part of an initiative to support the Library of Congress' Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) teacher professional development program. The Podcast will be integrated into the Forum website and will be available starting in the fall of 2011. The intent of the NFIL TPS program is twofold: 1) engage the TPS instructional model to underscore the importance of 21st century skill development required to meet college and career readiness challenges; and 2) recruit a broad spectrum of educational professionals (i.e., public/charter school teachers, library media specialists, educational administrators/paraprofessionals, afterschool and academic support personnel) to participate in the TPS professional development workshop series.

        • Dr. Patricia Breivik just completed her third year on the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Committee, having served as Chair for the 2011 scholarship year. The scholarship program this year provided six scholarship awards to deserving high school seniors.

        • Ken Breivik was asked to write an article on Released Time Bible Education for TEACHERS OF VISION, the official publication of Christian Educators Association International. The article is titled "Meeting All the Needs of Our Students," and it will appear in the fall 2011 issue of the journal. CEAI is the only professional association for Christians who are called to serve in public schools.
